The Parish Council were pleased to announce at the Annual Parish Meeting held on 23rd April 2007 SALLY RYAN as the winner of the 2007 Citizen of the Year. There was an impressive shortlist of candidates for us to debate this year and thanks to those who nominated others. It's an enormous pleasure to read through these nominations as it gives us the opportunity to see just what great work and commitments are made to our village and community. Not only did this year's winner receive an overwhelming majority of the votes received, they also received 100% vote from the council based on some slightly different criteria – things you can't measure, like positive attitude, sense of humour, willingness to throw oneself into anything they take on with 110% commitment. It's time to say that this persons generally sunny disposition and ability to get a smile out of the darkest mood, her energy, enthusiasm and unfailing sense of community and neighbourliness have compelled us to decide unanimously that this year's award for the villager of the year should go to Sally Ryan.
