Partnership Pioneers Club for Mini-Motorcyclists
HAVE you got a mini motorcycle? Would you like to become a member of a mini-motorcycle club serving the Dunstable, Houghton Regis and Leighton Buzzard areas?
Bedfordshire Police officers have teamed up with fellow members of South Beds Community Safety Partnership to organise events where young people can ride legally and safely and without upsetting local residents.
Club members will need to join the national governing body for motorcycle sport in the UK, the Auto-Cycle Union, take out a mini-bike registration, and have their bike security tagged
There will also be rules on machine specification and engine size and riders, who must be aged six to 16, will need the correct kit, such as helmets, gloves and sturdy footwear.
Meanwhile police, in response to residents' complaints, make it plain they will continue with Operation Meteor, the ongoing clampdown on the illegal use of mini-motorcycles and motorcycles on open land in South Bedfordshire.
Anyone interested in joining the club can contact Sgt Eldred, PC Simon Death or PC Graham Arnold on 01582 473342.
